QELNAVOR Retreats — a room at the end of the path

At the end of the path should stand a reason to walk it; the Varenna is that reason — an engawa edge for the in-between hour, pale timber holding the light, and silence fitted as standard.

A tea house is a philosophy with a roof: proportions taken seriously, thresholds that slow you down on purpose, and joinery clean enough to hold the ritual. Ours are built by carpenters who understand that the door should sound right when it closes.

Design & Craft

  • Flat-packed for assembly by your installer

  • Insulated floor, walls and roof for four-season sitting
  • Shoji-inspired screens in weatherproof materials
  • Proportions taken seriously; thresholds that slow you down
  • Interiors lined in pale timber that holds the light

Care

Re-oil exposed timber every two to three years — one weekend, supplied oil — and clear roof gutters each autumn. Check fixings at year one, then forget them. Shingles and finials are available as spare parts; storms are repaired, not mourned.

Questions, Answered

Is it usable year-round?
Insulated retreats with heating are four-season rooms; the listing states the package. Three-season models say so plainly and cost accordingly.

Can it be a home office?
That is half our orders: quiet, insulated, wired for data, with light placed for screens. The commute is twelve metres of lawn.
