The Villandry is winter, postponed indefinitely: classic orangery proportions over a frost-free citrus regime, cornice and pilaster details from the pattern-book tradition, and glazing that turns January into a reading month.
Orangeries are optimism with a U-value, and ours measure it: thermally broken aluminium or laminated timber frames, insulated safety glass to Ug 1.0, condensation managed by design rather than towel, and ridge details that shed snow without theatrics. Automatic roof vents and shading run quietly; winter runs outside.

Care
Lubricate hinges and vent gear yearly with the supplied grease, keep drainage channels clear, and wash frames with neutral cleaner. The orangery ages by staying exactly the same.
Questions, Answered
What about condensation?
Managed by design: ventilation paths, thermal breaks and drainage details. Persistent misting between panes is a warranty matter — glass units are stocked for fifteen years.
Does it attach to any house?
Winter gardens are surveyed first — wall build, damp course, foundations — then engineered to the house. The flashing details are ours; the house's dignity stays its own.
